Incredible program from November 18th, 1876 Yale versus Harvard. The game was played at Hamilton Park in New Haven, Connecticut. Yale won the game 1 to 0. Yale scored one goal and Harvard scored two touchdowns in the game, but touchdowns did not count as a score according to the rules of the day.

American football was less than ten years old when this game was played. Of significance is that Walter Camp, considered by most to the father of the modern game, played in his first game that day.

The fold-over 4" x 5 1/2" program has a stunning presentation, having been stored between the pages of book with other Yale artifacts from the same era for the last 130+ years. Outside of some period writing on the back cover the program is clean.

An incredible 19th century football collectible!
