Lot of press photos and an AAU track program featuring Al Blozis. Blozis was a National Champion shot and discuss thrower, a star football player who is on the 1940's NFL All-Decade team (played for the New York Giants), and a member of National Track & Field and College Football Halls of Fame. Tragically Blozis was killed in action in Germany in 1945 when searching for two missing soldiers from his party. Blozis was refused enlistment because of tremendous size but was unrelenting and was finally accepted. Initially assigned to a desk job he insisted upon be on the front line. Included in the lot are eight photos of Blozis taken in 1940 and 1941 (as a member of Georgetown University) throwing shot and disk and a 1941 AAU National Championship Track & Field program from Madison Square Garden (Blozis is featured and pictured inside).
