Continuous run of East vs. West Shrine programs (six) from 1926 to 1931. The program form the inaugural game, played in 1925, is offered as a separate lot in this auction. The game originated as a means to benefit the Shriners Hospital and associated charities. The best players from the East and West were invited. Throughout the history of the game, some of the greatest players ever to compete on the gridiron have participated; with contests played annually to this day.

The programs included in this lot are as follows:

January 1st, 1927; game two in the series played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The game was won by the West 7 to 3. The 24 page program, outside of a quarter-sized spot of paper loss on the front cover, presents well with age appropriate wear.

December 26th, 1927; game three in the series played at Kezar Staium im San Francisco. The game was won by the West 16 to 6. The 32 page program presents well with a light vertical fold. Players of note were Glenn Presnell and Jap Douds (first coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers).

December 29th, 1928; game four in the series played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The East earned their first victory in the series 20 to 0. The 32 page program has a rough exterior with tape repair to the front cover and spine. The interior shows light wear but is intact and presentable.

January 1st, 1930; game five in the series played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The East won for the second year in row 19 to 7. The cover is solid; the interior has the score written in pencil in the box section. The last page is half missing. Bronko Nagurski and Dutch Clark are both pictured in action poses.

December 27th, 1930; game six in the series played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The West won a low scoring affair 3 to 0. The 32 page program has pencil writing on the cover and some penciled notations on a couple of the interior pages.

January 1st, 1932; game seven in the series played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The East was triumphant, shutting out the West 6 to 0. The cover of this 32 page program suffers from insect damage around the edges and a few of the interior pages have staining. The interior format differs from the previous six years with the players displayed in more of a composite format. Players of note were Bill Hewitt, Jim MacMurdo, Herman Hickman, and Clark Hinkle.
