Twice signed Yogi Berra baseball; inscribed "10 W.S. Champs 12 W.S. HR's", "Yogi Berra MVP 51-54-55" and "Yogi Berra HOF 1972 #8". Autographs on an Official Rawlings American League Gene A. Budig ball.

The ball originated from the collection of Yankees author Tom Horton who passed away in 2010. He presented the ball to a worker at the retirement facility were he resided. Her story is below:

"As far as my story on how I got the ball: it was given to me by a man named Tom Horton, along with the book Tom wrote about Yogi Berra in 1989, "Yogi It Ain't Over....". Tom was a resident of Sun Lakes, Arizona (a retirement community south of Phoenix) where I worked as admin for the owner/developer, Ed Robson. Tom Horton and Ed Robson were friends. Tom's father was the personal physician to the Yankees so growing up Tom was always in a dugout or meeting the players and therefore his love of the sport and players grew - he knew all the Yankee history and he liked to share stories with me whenever he came into the office in Sun Lakes. He was a fascinating man."

Included as part of this lot is a copy of Horton's book "Yogi It Ain't Over...".

A great piece for the Berra and/or Yankees collector.
