Cigar manufacturers competed for market share by using colorful and themed labeling. The fascination with Native American culture from the late 19th and well into the 20th century spawned many advertising campaigns. The tobacco industry was no exception; utilizing a number of designs to adorn it's products. The offered inner label is an eleven color proof for the Cremer Cigar Company titled "El Jefe" the Spanish translation "The Chief". The 6 3/8" x 7 1/2" piece has been graded GCLGS (Global Cigar Label Grading Service) 5, Fine. This is an extremely rare example.
