The first sudden death contest...the game in which the NFL came of age and ousted baseball from it's lofty perch as "America's Game"; Giants versus Colts for the NFL Championship at Yankee Stadium. When Alan Ameche of the Colts crossed the goal line in overtime millions were watching. Dubbed as "The Greatest Game Ever Played", the game also saw the emergence of the legendary Johnny Unitas as he laid the foundation for his legacy. The game was played on December 28, 1958 on a cold day in the Bronx. In addition to Unitas fourteen other future Hall of Famers participated in the game. The 32 page program is a fine example with minimal wear to the borders of the cover and spine. The inside, with the exception of being scored on the center pages, is incredibly clean.
