Bill Hewitt was an end for the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. In addition to being a two way star; Hewitt is also noted for being one of the last players to not wear a helmet before doing so was made mandatory.

Hewitt's autograph (signed "William Hewitt") is an endorsement of a 1938 Philadelphia Eagles check also signed by Bert Bell, who would later be the commissioner of the NFL from 1945 to 1959. Both signatures have been authenticated by JSA and the check encapsulated by Beckett. The Hewitt signature is one of the most difficult of the HOF members, as Hewitt passed away prior to his 40th birthday.
