With early Ruth items being a hot commodity of late; don't miss the opportunity to add this obscure piece to your collection. The 6 3/8" x 8 3/8" premium was issued by the Pathe Freres Phonograph Company in late 1920 to commemorate and capitalize upon his historic season. The stats on the reverse, which list his home runs by date, team played, and pitcher faced, end on September 13th with a tally of 45...Ruth would hit nine more before the season ended. The image is of a youthful Ruth in his Yankee pinstripes with a black armband (likely to honor Ray Chapman who died following being hit by a pitch during a Yankees Indians game in September of 1920) on his left sleeve. While the piece has technical flaws, including a couple pinholes and border tears, it presents very well.
